City of Eastvale, CA
Home MenuFire Services
The City of Eastvale contracts with Riverside County for fire services, which are provided by CAL Fire. Eastvale is home to Fire Stations 27 and 31, which deliver comprehensive emergency response services, including municipal and wildland fire protection, pre-hospital emergency medical care, technical rescue operations, and hazardous materials response.
While fire services are contracted, the City collaborates closely with CAL Fire to ensure the highest quality fire prevention and emergency response efforts. Generally, Eastvale is at a lower risk than other communities due to predominantly newer fire-rated construction and strict compliance with the most current building codes. As a result, Fire insurance rates in Eastvale are typically lower than those in surrounding cities.
Fire reduction efforts include:
- Maintaining an agreement with CAL Fire to provide a full wildland firefighting response through the Wildland Protection Reimbursement Agreement in the Santa Anna River Bottom.
- Changing the 92880 ZIP code from Corona to Eastvale to reduce the risk of emergency and fire personnel being misdirected, improving response times. This also ensures that Eastvale residents are not incorrectly classified by insurance carriers.
- Collaboration between JCSD and CAL Fire to install a Heli-Hydrant in Eastvale Community Park which will provide a reliable water source for fire fighting helicopters close to the Santa Ana River bottom area. Installation is expected in late 2025.
- Collaborating with other cities every five years to update the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan. The latest updated was completed in 2023.
- Working with SCE to notify residents of Public Safety Power Shutoffs during wind events to reduce fire risks.
- Hosting Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes so that residents can support recovery in the event of a major emergency event.
- Working with neighboring communities to seek state and federal grants to reduce dry fuel in the river bottom area and encouraging the undergrounding of electrical systems.
- Building a third Fire Station for Eastvale's future Civic Center core located at 58th Street and Scholar Avenue.
- Evaluating the possibility of adding a ladder truck to our fire fleet to assist firefighting efforts as the City grows. This can help reduce the City’s ISO rating and possibly reduce insurance rates.
- Monitoring our Public Protection ISO rating to ensure that the City is doing all it can to achieve the highest rating to keep insurance rates as low as possible.
- Working with JCSD to promote regular testing of hydrants to ensure proper water flow during firefighting efforts
