From an early age, public service has been part of Jocelyn Yow’s life and a source of growth and inspiration. Growing up in a working-class immigrant family, her family emphasizes the importance of giving back and community service.

Councilmember Yow has ten years of experience in politics and has worked at all levels of government in the United States. She won her election for Eastvale City Council in 2018 with a 40 point margin at the age of 23, and at the age of 25, she became the youngest woman of color to serve as mayor of a California city. She also serves as the chair of Riverside Transit Agency, Transportation NOW Northwest Chapter. 

Councilmember Yow has been featured on Yahoo Finance, Ms. Magazine, CalMatters, ABC7, Spectrum News, Mashable SEA, Malaysia Kini, among others. 

“I've been proud to call Eastvale my home ever since my family moved here in 2011. We are a city on the rise, and the city has an opportunity to grow and provide more for its residents. Serving on the Eastvale City Council allows me to advocate for this city and provide it with the tools to create a strong family-oriented community,” Yow said.

She obtained her Master's degree from Harvard Extension; her Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley; and her Associate’s degree from Norco College.
