The City of Eastvale, in conjunction with the Eastvale Chinese American Association and Panana Night Market, is excited to announce the launch of our inaugural Lantern Festival. This two-day event will take place February 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and February 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Lunar New Year has been celebrated for centuries and influences countries throughout the world as it signifies the arrival of spring and the beginning of the lunisolar calendar. The Lantern Festival will be “a great opportunity for the Chinese community to share their culture with others” said President of ECCA, Howard Feng.
The event will kick off with an opening ceremony featuring a special lion dance performance from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19. Other must-watch performances include traditional Chinese dances from the Eastvale Chinese American Association, modern dances from Tang Art and Performing Studios, traditional instruments such as Chinese erhu and zither by DEC, Kungfu demonstrations, and more!
The Lantern Festival will host 16 unique food vendors, 3 food trucks, and a variety of traditional and modern goods. At the event, children are invited to enjoy numerous fun-zone inflatable jumpers, obstacle courses, and rock walls!
"Coming together as a community to celebrate Eastvale's diversity is a priority for the Eastvale City Council, and we're excited to partner with these community groups and join in the celebration,” said Mayor Clint Lorimore.
We hope to see the community enjoying this FREE event February 19 and 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. located at 13200 Citrus Street, Eastvale, CA 92880.
