JURUPA COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT (JCSD) REFINANCES  SPECIAL TAX BONDS AND LOWERS PROPERTY TAXES IN EASTVALE

JURUPA VALLEY, CA (December 9, 2019) – JCSD has completed the refinancing of $20,570,000 for five Community Facilities Districts (CFDs).  Many newer communities, such as Eastvale, require the construction of infrastructure including parks and public facilities, streetlights, and connections to water and sewer systems.  CFDs, also known as Mello-Roos, levy special property taxes paid by homeowners for the construction of such infrastructure. The refinancing of the existing CFD bonds does not extend the original repayment terms.

“Refinancing existing debt whenever there is an opportunity to save money is one example of JCSD’s ongoing commitment to ratepayers,” stated General Manager Chris Berch. “Finance staff continuously looks for new methods to safeguard JCSD’s finances and provide the best possible value to our customers. In this instance, the reduction in the annual tax bill will range from $130 to $348 per parcel for these specific CFDs.”
These CFDs will have a reduced special tax levy beginning with the 2020-21 property tax bill:
