 Storm Watch This Weekend!

Prepare for heavy rainfall tonight through the weekend, February 1 - February 3, 2019.

The National Weather Service is predicting Eastvale to get approximately 2 inches of rain tonight through Sunday morning.

A pacific storm will bring widespread heavy showers to the area through this evening. Rainfall rates up to 1 inch per hour will be likely with the heaviest activity. This could lead to flash flooding in poor drainage and urbanized areas as well as mud and debris flows in and below recent burn scars. Wind gusts appear to be in the range of 35 mph - 45 mph.

Please me aware that local flooding may occur.

Precautionary & Preparedness Actions:

  • A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
  • Flash flooding is very dangerous and the heavy rainfall could cause debris flows in recent burn areas according to rainfall thresholds provided by the USGS.
  • Debris flows are extremely dangerous and happen suddenly often with little time to act.
  • You should monitor the latest forecasts.
  • Take note of any advice given from local authorities.
