Pine Avenue Closure Scheduled January 4 – January 14

Post Date:12/26/2018 10:17 AM

Pine Avenue Closure Scheduled January 4 – January 14

Construction to widen and improve Pine Avenue will require its closure in both directions between Euclid Avenue and Mill Creek Avenue from January 4 to January 14, 2019

The widening of Pine Avenue from Euclid Avenue to Meadowhouse Avenue will provide additional traffic lanes and left turn lanes to ensure safety and improve traffic flow. The January 4 -14 Pine Avenue closure is part of a larger phase of work that will provide two lanes in each direction between Euclid Avenue and Meadowhouse Avenue. The next stage of work, which is scheduled to start in Spring of 2019, will improve drainage on Pine Avenue and add lanes from Meadowhouse Avenue to Mill Creek Avenue.

This street widening work that would otherwise take several months to complete and require multiple stages of temporary bypass roads with reduced speeds in the construction zones will be completed in ten days to minimize commuter impacts.

Enhanced patrols by Chino PD will be provided during the closure.

Alternate routes are as follows:

• Northbound(N/B) and Southbound(S/B) Euclid Avenue traffic for Pine Avenue access:  Use Bickmore Avenue to Mill Creek Avenue

• N/B and S/B Mill Creek Avenue traffic for Pine Avenue access:  Use Bickmore Avenue to Euclid Avenue

• Eastbound Pine Avenue traffic: Use Mill Creek Avenue detour • Westbound Pine Avenue traffic: Use Euclid Avenue detour

Commuters are advised to avoid the construction area altogether by heading east/west on Merrill Avenue and north/south on Euclid Avenue and Flight Avenue.

A map of alternate routes is available on the City website at www.cityofchino.org/residents
