City Manager's Holiday Message!

As we celebrate the holiday season, I want to thank you for making this a wonderful year for the City of Eastvale. Whether you are a new resident, a long-time resident, a business owner, an employee, a developer, a community partner, or a City teammate; together, you are all part of what makes Eastvale amazing.IMG_0421

Serving Eastvale has been very rewarding and I am honored to serve as your City Manager. Over the last eight months the Eastvale community has been so warm and welcoming. I want to thank everyone who has shared their experiences, heart, and vision about Eastvale with me. In this time, I have had the privilege of experiencing why Eastvale is ranked #17 in the nation for Best Places To Live, awarded by Money Magazine for the second year in a row. It has been a privilege to get to know so many of the people that make this community such a special place to live, work, and play.

There are many things I love about Eastvale. To share a few, I love that we truly are a city made up of community, pride, and prosperity, as our City Seal suggests. I love that we are one of the most culturally diverse cities in Southern California. I love that we are all on one mission, with the same goal of creating the best City to enjoy. I feel blessed to serve alongside a talented team at City Hall that is really taking on an entrepreneurial spirit. We are always striving to Exceed Eastvale’s Expectations Every Day. Sometimes we win, sometimes we learn, and yet we are always trying our best!

In August, we had a Strategic Planning and Goal Setting Workshop that included the City Council, City Management, City Staff, and public input. The workshop was followed up with two more community engagement opportunities in September and November as the top fourteen priorities were identified, developed, and adopted. The purpose of this workshop was to assist the City Council and City Management in developing a plan that includes clearly defined targets and goals to provide the Eastvale Team with clear direction and prioritization moving into 2019 and beyond.

As part of these strategic goals, a Community Satisfaction Study will be taking place in January. The goal is to measure satisfaction, perspectives, and preferences with City services, quality of life, and other relevant information including strengths and areas of improvement. This will also help us identify opportunities to help us better understand the community’s interests, concerns, wants and needs. The results of this study will be presented to City Council in February.

There is definitely much to be proud of when we look back at this past year. Together, we have celebrated tremendous investment in community, opportunity, business, and development. We are in the process of hitting a major milestone of $10 billion in assessed property value. As your City Manager, I am confident you will be pleased with the progress we are making and will continue to make in 2019.

Our continued success relies heavily on an engaged community and I invite you to be a part of building Eastvale’s tomorrow, today. Be involved, stay connected, and partner with us as we continue to make strategic investments to enhance the quality of life and amenities in our community! Your voice matters, and we want to hear from you. Our outstanding twenty-nine neighborhood watch programs, as well as being ranked in the Top 6th Percent of Safest Cities in California by SafeWise are all accolades that were a complete team effort and would not be possible without all of you.

To this end, I can confidently say that Eastvale is very much a tightknit community and I would like to take this opportunity to challenge our residents and businesses to lead by example this holiday season. Extend a helping hand and smile to a neighbor, exchange kindness, and consider ways to give back.

One way to get involved and also give back is volunteering to help serve the Residents on Patrol program for the Police Department. If you are interested in helping serve your community, contact Deputy James Huggins at jhuggins@riversidesherrif.org or 951.955.9225.

2018 was an amazing year, but the best is yet to come! The City of Eastvale is working on many great projects and initiatives to better serve you in 2019 and I am certain you will be happy with the progress we are making.

From my family to yours, we wish you a safe and memorable holiday season!

 Bryan Jones, City Manager
