Red Flag Warning In Effect

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM Thursday, November 8, 2018 to 10 PM PST Friday, November 9, 2018. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. This Red Flag Warning is in effect due to gusy northeast winds and low relative humidity.

WIND: Northeast 20 to 30 mph with areas of 30 to 40 mph near and below passes and canyons. Gusts to 50 mph with local gusts to 65 mph.

Falling to around 5 percent on Friday.

A second burst of moderate strength Santa Ana winds is looking more likely Sunday and Monday.

IMPACTS: Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly with extreme fire behavior possible. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds and low relative humidity can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
