Eastvale Ranked in Top 6th Percent of Safest Cities in California

Eastvale, CA – The City of Eastvale is proud to announce that we have been ranked on the Top 50 Safest Cities in California list for 2018, based on a study conducted by SafeWise.  Eastvale ranked 28th among the 482 cities in California (top 6th percent). safewise

To identify the fifty safest cities in California, SafeWise reviewed the 2016 FBI crime report statistics and population data.  Their evaluation is based on the number of reported violent crimes (aggravated assault, murder, rape, and robbery) in each city. If there was a tie between cities, they also factored in the number of property crimes (burglary, arson, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft).  To be equitable, they also calculated the rate of crimes per 1,000 people in each city.  This made is easier to directly compare the likelihood of these crimes occurring in cities with vastly different populations. “We are proud that the City of Eastvale is among one of the safest cities in California, ranked in the top 6th percent," Mayor Clint Lorimore said.  “It is a true testament to the continued efforts of the community, Eastvale Police Department, along with ongoing collaboration with the Eastvale Neighborhood Watch Program; which by the way, Eastvale is the only city in the nation to have every residential neighborhood participate in the Neighborhood Watch Program!  Safety remains a top focus for the Eastvale City Council and we continue to prioritize public safety to maintain a safe environment for our community to live, work, and play.”

The City of Eastvale would like to remind its residents and businesses to be vigilant by reporting suspicious and criminal activity as soon as its seen to the Eastvale Police Department.  If you see something, say something.  Maintaining a safe environment is a team effort and we are grateful for our team that is made up of our Eastvale Police Department, residents, businesses, and partnering agencies.  Together, we are best.
