As the new school year begins, the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station would like to encourage residents of the communities of Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, and Norco to keep our children safe while they travel to and from school by observing safe vehicle operation.  We would like to remind motorists to take extra precautions in designated school zones by observing no parking/stopping zones, obeying all traffic laws, and watching for children walking or bicycling in the area.  Deputies will be strictly enforcing driving regulations.

Most common vehicle laws violated in school zones are:

  • School zone speed limit, 25 mph when children are present
  • Passing a stopped school bus displaying red flashing light or stop sign arm
  • Cell phones use
  • Fail to obey a sign or signal
  • Impeding Traffic
  • Illegal U-Turn in a residential District
  • Unattended Child in Vehicle
  • Double parking/unlawful curb parking
