On February 28, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., deputies assigned to the Norco Sheriff’s Office conducted a probation compliance check in the 1600 block of Hamner Ave., Norco. Upon arrival, deputies located and detained Yvonne Marquez, a 38-year-old resident of Riverside and Joshua Adame, a 33-year-old resident of Riverside.

During the search, deputies located hundreds of pieces of mail stolen from numerous cities including Norco, Eastvale, Corona, Riverside, Moreno Valley and Irvine. In addition to the stolen mail, deputies located dozens of stolen credit cards, identification cards, altered checks, counterfeit US currency, numerous laptop computers and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Marquez and Adame were both arrested and booked into jail at the Robert Presley Detention Center for numerous charges including possession of stolen property, possession of altered checks, possession of counterfeit US currency, possession of a controlled substance, under the influence of a controlled substance and violation of probation.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department will be vigilant in investigating all crimes of this nature. This investigation is ongoing and we are attempting to identify additional victims of mail theft.
